Game design iconIn this game design coding class, students learn basic computer science principles and coding skills while programming computers using the block-based language Scratch. This class consists of eight, 60-minute sessions where students are presented computer science principles and create eight different game design projects:  Registration required. Grades 6 and up.

  3. Maze Game
  4. Platform Game
  5. Escape Game
  6. Launcher Game
  7. Quest Game
  8. Cave Surfing Game

Prerequisites

  • Students are expected to attend a majority of the eight sessions
  • Youth grades 6 and above
  • Experience with keyboard and mouse
  • Completed online registration through Johnston Public Library
